We stocked 6 mature walleye between 17 and 20 inches into a private lake, I'd say 50 to 60 acres big. The lake is 25 feet in its deepest area. What are the chance of the walleye producing? There are plenty of bait fish in this lake.
Our pond is 1/2 acre -depth 4 -12 ft. It is about 3 years old. We don't have a weed problem, and there is no water running into it ( such as a tile)
I treat it with blue dye in spring, and use copper as needed-mabey 3 times a year.
We had record rain this spring -but I do have an overflow in the pond.
There are quite a few good sized bluegill, and mabey 20 some bass- the biggest about 16".
Recently I had found about 15 dead bluegill -over 4 or 5 days. We had been fishing a couple of days before that, but only 1 swallowed the hook.
Yesterday my husband turned the water on to fill our pond. The problem was he forgot to turn it off. When we can back 10 hours later 23 of our 27 fish were dead. Today the rest of the fish died. The pond did overflow of course. Why did our fish died?
It is the second week of April and all of the ice is off the pond for about 2 weeks (we do aerate all year though). I have seen a couple of the large bass (12-14") in the last day or so and two of them have some type of whitish fungus on them. One only has it on its head but the other has it all over it's back. We have several types of fish in the pond (bluegill, catfish, bass). I saw the one bass this morning and thought that it was dead, it was hanging out in the shallow area up next to the shore line. When I tried to net him out though he did move but very slowly.
I have a 5 acer lake thats 50 feet deep will walleyes breed in my lake.
I have a small pond, about 1500 gallons. What is the best product that you have for this size pond for algae control?
Question: my koi pond filter is green w algae??

Yesterday we had a huge, flash flood enducing storm and a fair portion of mud/sand mix slid from the banks of my 500 gallon (estimate) pond into the water. Now, its brown (obviously). The pump is still working and I pulled it out this morning to clean out the filter pads, but left all the bio ball and gunk in the bottom. Here is my question: until the sediment has a chance to settle, is this brown water going to harm my fish? Can they breathe? They're not visible now,
Thank you.

We put in a pond about 6 years ago. We have never had a problem with the fish dying. We have goldfish and koi. This year however, when we pulled off the leaf net in the spring, all our big koi had died. Now, we are having dead fish everyday, about 5 a day. Someone told us about pond water "turning" and when that happens your water clears up but all your fish die. Could this be what is happening? What can we do to prevent all the fish from dying? It has been really hot here this summer, could the heat have an affect on the fish? Thank you for your help!
